Summer at Holdenby (1) : Watercolour Flowers
Who can resist the allure of fresh flowers? From colourful and blousy, to stylish and geometric, there is a flower shape to suit every style of watercolour painting.
During this workshop you will be encouraged to explore expressive, loose ways of using watercolour to capture the character and essence of a flower. You will be shown a variety of techniques, from wet-in-wet (perfect for delicate petals), to combining ink with watercolours (great for a looser, more dynamic look), and with luck, have a number of contemporary watercolour studies, and a finished painting, by the end of the day.
During the afternoon session we will look at how to mount and frame your work for a professional finish, and all participants will leave with a beautiful framed watercolour painting to be proud of.
This promises to be a great day, and is suitable for all levels. Tea, coffee and pastries will be available on arrival, and a light lunch is included, courtesy of the wonderful Connies Tea Parlour.
