Cyanotype Printing (17th and 18th September, 2020)
Explore the magic of cyanotype printing – the earliest form of photography. This practical workshop, will teach you the complete process, from mixing the chemicals, to creating beautiful blue prints from both objects and photographic negatives. Over the two day course, you will build up a series of cyanotypes on different surfaces, including paper and textiles, that are works of art in themselves, or can be combined and reworked as collages or stitched works. You will also learn how to tint your cyanotypes to create 'sepia' effects as well as the traditional cyanotype 'blue'.
Students that complete this course may be interested to enrol for the 'Alternative Sketchbook' one day workshop, which will show you how to make your own sketchbooks from the prints you create.
